West Panthers Varsity got things started in the second inning when Zac Brown doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run in their game at home on Thursday, March 7th.
Layton pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third an error scored one run for Layton, an error scored two runs for Layton, and Carter Robinson grounded out, scoring one run.
Larson Shaffer got the win for Layton. He went two and a third innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out three. Collin Naygood and Lam Day entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Andre Tafolla took the loss for West Panthers Varsity. He surrendered four runs on one hit over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five.
Garrett Riley led West Panthers Varsity with two hits in four at bats.
