West Panthers Varsity snatched the lead late in the game in an 8-7 victory over Granger on Monday, March 4 at home. West Panthers Varsity was down 7-6 in the bottom of the sixth inning when an error scored two runs for West Panthers Varsity.

West Panthers Varsity earned the victory despite allowing Granger to score five runs in the sixth inning. Granger’s big inning was driven by an error on a ball put in play by Chris Freestone and Weston Cousins and a walk by Will West.

West Panthers Varsity took an early lead in the first inning. Zac Brown singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Quin Abrath pitched West Panthers Varsity to victory. He allowed two hits and two runs over five innings, striking out nine. Garrett Riley threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Rileyrecorded the last six outs to earn the save for West Panthers Varsity.

Zack Parkin took the loss for Granger. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two-thirds of an inning, walking one.

Lance Larsen started the game for Granger. He surrendered four runs on four hits over two innings, striking out one and walking one

West Panthers Varsity racked up ten hits. Carlos Arcia and Carlos Ramos all collected multiple hits for West Panthers Varsity. Arcia led West Panthers Varsity with three hits in four at bats.
